Donut Falls

This last week my mom + Brennon were out of town judging for the National Forensic League debate tournament plus, my dad was working all week, so Pelle + I got to be the parents for 5 days. It sure was an adventure! The last day of our reign as parents we took all the children on a hike up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Donut Falls. Easy enough for the littlest kids to do, but beautiful and fun enough that the older kids were willing to tag along. Truly an awesome hike!
Off we go on a grand adventure into the woods
The peak of Donut Falls in the distance

The adventurers climbing to the top of the waterfall
And then a line of children (aka our family) making their way down the mountain

On our way back to the trailhead it was undeniably the perfect weather! Not too hot + not too cold as the late afternoon sun bathed the woods with its pale yellow rays.
"Reading about nature is fine, but if a person walks in the woods and listens carefully, he can learn more than what is in books, for the speak with the voice of God"
